I’ve been Head of DFID Ethiopia since August 2008. Prior to starting here I ran the Secretary of State’s office in London for two and a half years. All told, I’ve been with DFID since 1997, including secondments to the Cabinet Office and Foreign Office during that time.

24 years ago, Irish singer Bob Geldof co-wrote 'Do they know it's Christmas?' to raise money for those affected by the famine in Ethiopia. The song has been re-released twice since then, each time with a new line-up of artists.
