Lord Ashdown was Chair of the Humanitarian Emergency Response Review which looked at the way the UK responds to disasters such as the Haiti earthquake and Pakistan floods. Previously he led the Liberal Democrats Party and acted as EU Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina until 2006. He is currently President of UNICEF UK.
