I arrived in Afghanistan in March. This is my third overseas posting - before this I was in Bangladesh and before that Zimbabwe. So I'll be able to say I've worked for the A-Z of DFID. My job here is as the Results and Social Development Adviser. This means that I am responsible for trying to capture the impact of our aid on the lives of ordinary Afghanis.

I have now left Afghanistan after nearly 21 months there. Just over a year ago, I spent four days in Bamyan province considering a new agriculture programme supported by UK and New Zealand aid.
